Terms of Service - Westocab
Last Updated: 29 October 2026
Welcome to WESTOCAB. These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of www.westocab.com, our taxi booking platform and related services.
WESTOCAB is a cab aggregator operating from Jharsuguda, Odisha, India, under the business name Western Odisha Cab Service.
By accessing our website, submitting a booking request or using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our booking services.
- About WESTOCAB
WESTOCAB provides a platform to facilitate taxi bookings by connecting customers with participating drivers and vehicle operators.
Unless a particular booking or service expressly states otherwise, transportation is provided by the assigned driver or vehicle operator. WESTOCAB’s role in arranging a booking does not remove any responsibility that WESTOCAB, a driver or an operator has under applicable law.
WESTOCAB will operate subject to applicable licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Eligibility and User Responsibilities
By using WESTOCAB, you agree that:
- You will provide accurate booking information.
- You will provide a valid contact number for booking-related communications.
- You will use the platform only for lawful purposes.
- You will not misuse the website or attempt unauthorised access.
- You will not use the service to arrange unlawful activities or transport prohibited items.
If you book on behalf of another passenger, you are responsible for providing accurate information and ensuring that the passenger receives the necessary booking details.
- Booking Requests and Confirmation
Customers may request taxi services through the booking methods made available by WESTOCAB.
A booking request is not necessarily a confirmed booking. Confirmation may depend on vehicle availability, driver acceptance, route, travel time and other operational conditions.
Where available, we may communicate booking confirmation, driver details, vehicle registration, estimated arrival time and other relevant information through the website, telephone, SMS, WhatsApp or other designated channels.
Customers should check their booking details and contact us promptly if any information is incorrect.
WESTOCAB may decline or cancel a booking where no suitable vehicle is available, the booking information is materially inaccurate, safety is at risk or cancellation is otherwise justified under applicable law.
- Fares and Additional Charges
The applicable fare will be communicated or calculated through the booking process according to the fare structure for the selected service.
Depending on the booking, charges may include:
- Base fare and distance-based or time-based charges.
- Applicable airport, railway station or pickup charges.
- Tolls, parking charges and taxes.
- Waiting charges, where disclosed.
- Additional charges for route changes, extra stops or changes requested by the customer, where disclosed and permitted.
Any applicable additional charges should be communicated in accordance with the booking process and applicable law.
If the final fare differs from an estimate because of a route change, waiting time or another disclosed pricing factor, customers may request an explanation.
An estimated fare is not a guaranteed final fare unless expressly stated.
- Payment Terms
Payment methods may include cash, UPI, online payment or other methods expressly offered for a particular booking.
Customers must pay the applicable fare and properly disclosed charges using the payment method specified for the booking.
Where payment is made directly to the driver or operator, the driver or operator is responsible for acknowledging the payment. Where WESTOCAB or its payment provider collects payment, the transaction will be processed according to the applicable payment terms.
Customers should never share their UPI PIN, OTP, passwords or other payment credentials with drivers or customer support personnel.
Any payment dispute should be reported to WESTOCAB with the booking reference and relevant payment evidence.
- Cancellation, Waiting and No-Shows
Customers should cancel a booking as early as reasonably possible if they no longer require the ride.
A cancellation fee or waiting charge may apply only where the relevant policy has been disclosed before the booking is confirmed, subject to applicable law.
If a driver fails to arrive within the communicated timeframe, cannot be located or the customer believes a cancellation charge has been applied incorrectly, the customer may contact WESTOCAB for review.
If a driver cancels a booking or a vehicle becomes unavailable, WESTOCAB may attempt to arrange a replacement vehicle where feasible.
The applicable cancellation and waiting-charge schedule may be displayed on the website or communicated during booking and forms part of the relevant booking terms.
- Refunds and Payment Disputes
Refund eligibility depends on the circumstances of the booking, the payment method and applicable law.
Where a refund is approved, it will be processed through the original payment method where feasible or through another lawful method agreed with the customer.
Refund processing times may depend on banks, payment service providers and other third parties.
Customers should provide the booking reference, payment details and a description of the issue when requesting a refund or disputing a charge.
Nothing in these Terms removes any rights a customer has under applicable consumer protection law.
- Passenger Responsibilities and Safety
Passengers must:
- Behave respectfully towards drivers and other passengers.
- Follow applicable traffic and safety requirements.
- Wear seat belts where provided and required.
- Avoid carrying prohibited or dangerous items.
- Avoid damaging the vehicle or engaging in threatening, abusive or unlawful conduct.
- Ensure children and other passengers are appropriately supervised.
Passengers should verify the vehicle registration and driver details provided for their booking before entering the vehicle.
Any safety concern, accident, harassment, suspected fraud or other serious incident should be reported to emergency services where necessary and to WESTOCAB as soon as reasonably possible.
- Driver and Vehicle Standards
Drivers and vehicle operators participating in WESTOCAB’s network must comply with applicable laws and the onboarding requirements communicated by WESTOCAB.
These may include maintaining valid driving licences, vehicle registration, insurance, permits, fitness certificates and other legally required documents.
Drivers must follow applicable traffic rules, treat passengers respectfully, provide the accepted service and avoid unauthorised fare demands or discriminatory conduct.
WESTOCAB may review complaints and take appropriate action, including suspending bookings or removing a driver or vehicle from the platform, where justified.
- Delays, Route Changes and Service Disruptions
Pickup times and journey durations are estimates unless expressly guaranteed. Traffic, weather, road closures, vehicle breakdowns, public events and other circumstances may affect travel.
Customers should communicate requested changes to the pickup point, destination or route as soon as possible.
Changes may affect the fare, journey time and vehicle availability. Additional charges, if any, must be handled according to the disclosed fare policy and applicable law.
- Lost Property and Complaints
Customers who leave an item in a vehicle should contact WESTOCAB promptly and provide their booking details and a description of the item.
WESTOCAB may assist in contacting the relevant driver or operator, but recovery depends on the circumstances and the item’s availability.
For booking complaints, customers should provide the booking reference, travel date and a clear description of the concern. WESTOCAB will review complaints and take reasonable steps to resolve them.
- Prohibited Use
Users must not:
- Submit false or fraudulent bookings.
- Impersonate another person.
- Use the platform for unlawful purposes.
- Interfere with the platform’s security or functionality.
- Attempt to access another user’s information without permission.
- Harass, threaten, discriminate against or harm another user.
- Submit knowingly false or misleading complaints.
WESTOCAB may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate suspected misuse or comply with law. Any action remains subject to applicable legal obligations.

WESTOCAB aims to keep its website and booking services available but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

- Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, WESTOCAB is not responsible for losses caused solely by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including third-party network failures, unforeseen road closures or disruptions to external payment systems.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury where exclusion is prohibited, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
WESTOCAB will address complaints concerning its own platform, booking arrangements and services in accordance with applicable law.

Changes will not remove rights that users are entitled to retain under applicable law.
- Governing Law and Disputes
